Its dragon boat Wednesday so of course its pouring rain out there. We have not had a single dry practice yet. We might be cursed.
I have a vague recollection of the weekend being awesome. Kneegs - remind me to get the carousel pix off yer camera?
Last night was the big fundraiser at the clinic I volunteer at. Barbra Schlifer was a young lawyer who was murdered in Toronto on the day of her call to the Bar 30 years ago and her friends founded the clinic to provide legal help to women victims of violence in her honour. Anyhoo long story short the clinic's supporters are all super rich lawyers and last night was like a Sex and the City episode with all the unbelievable shoes. It was literally a sea of Loubs and Manolos and Jimmy Choos and gogo Kay and Fratboy for elevating my Payless tastes to at least recognizing thousand dollar shoes now. If I hadn't been there with a cop who is just looking for any excuse to throw my ass in jail I seriously might have rolled a couple of them broads for their shoes.
Twisty G was a total dental rockstar btw. He didn't even flinch or grip the armrest hard or anything when they gave him the freezing needle and he actually kept laughing at the different drill sounds and sensations. LAUGHING. We'll see if he still finds it funny 3 more appointments later but for now that is a huge amount of stress gone. That kid is upping his entertainment value lately. After the dentist I took him with me to go get our passports and while we were at the window getting our applications processed he asked what we needed these papers for anyway? So I told him that if he ever wants to go on a plane, these are the papers he needs.
T: PLANE? AWESOME!! CAN I JUMP OUT OF IT?!
Me: Not until you're 16.
T: Well YOU got to jump out of a plane.
M: Yes well I am over 16.
T (turns to the clerk): Does my hair look like Justin Bieber?
At which point the clerk cracked up and said I definitely had my hands full with this one.
And to think he's actually the easiest of my boys compared to the evil genius Crispini and Fitzy are...
