Norwescon 31 - it's sooner than you think

So,
macavite and I have been talking off and on these past several months (ever since the last Con, really) about costumes. What to do, etc, after the previous very well-received YipYip's and the also fun Batman Villain troupe.

I checked on Norwescon's site and it says $45 for registration up through August 11th (which is coming up quick). Also, the hotel is currently accepting reservations for the regular rooms. Suites/party rooms become available for reservation later.

So...if we decide we want to do this again next year, which I personally would love to, we need to get moving probably. Cheaper reservations (I'm guessing it'll keep going up about $5 each raise, ending up at the about $55 or $60 for the weekend I think it ended up last year. Also, getting in the main hotel would be nice as well.

So that's question one, who's thinking about going?

Question two, was it's only 7 months away until Con, what kind of costumes do we want to do. :D  I'm in school now so don't nearly have that much time for them, but it would be cool to do at least one group costume set. The yip yips were great fun, it wouldn't be too difficult to mend them and add some more tentacles, etc. I know
julrosec had mentioned wanting a purple one for herself. It may be kind of tacky to have them back again, but they were so well appreciated last time it might not be so bad. Granted, you can only stay in those for 1-2 hours tops before you have to bail due to excessive heat and snorting fuzz.

So costume suggestions this year (after learning from last time) should be much more livable - think what can I spend 5+ hours in and still be reasonably comfortable. I've got some individual ideas for myself (of course), but group ones that we could pull off would be great too. If people were willing, it would be neat to do a masquerade entry for a group set as well.  Some ideas that had been raised: GI Joe villains (not that many females, poo), Watchman characters (graphic novel, wikipedia it), others? Ideally we'd have spots for 3+ females and 4+ guys, depending on how many of us are planning on going up. Gender obscure/neutral characters would also work for us females when there's not enough female spots (like for both of those ideas).

Thoughts?
