Yay Friday!

So apparently this is becoming "Friday is posting day" here. That seems to be about the amount of time before I feel that enough has happened that's somewhat interesting or worthy of talking about. It's also when I start to get the feeling "you know, you probably should post..."

Anyway, was a decent enough week, better than last. Still busy & tired at the end of it but that's going to be fairly typical me-thinks. Tuesday was Diff. Eq. midterm, I think it went well, I'm pretty sure, but it was one of those where we got sooo much time to work on it I kept second guessing myself so by the end I wasn't completely sure if I had done it right but I didn't want to keep fiddling with it. From what the teacher said after the test though, I think I pulled up the right methods out of my brain. :)

Went and saw Harry Potter Wednesday night, I enjoyed the film, thought it was well done - as a film - but don't want to compare it too closely to the book. After the first Harry Potter movie (which was as close to a book on film as I think anyone could get) the films started becoming movies based off of the books, not books on film. On their own, apart from the books they're good (I think) but don't compare them too closely to the books or you'll just start wincing. Almost no book, especially those ones when they got in the 400-500+ page range, could be put straight to film successfully. Make a good film inspired by them, yes. Which is what this was, and it was good fun to see it.

And today's friday. Last day of work before the weekend, two days of freedom, hurrah! Will be good to see & spend time with friends this weekend, as opposed to working or schooling all the time. Also will be neat to see how the entertainment system works out, always fun to see Serenity. Note to self, bring something to work on & keep my hands busy.

Today at work I went into downtown for a couple of meetings, was very nice to get some things sorted out. Sometimes you just have to gather & pow-wow in person in order to get anything done, as opposed to trying to play phone or email tag and get all the ducks in a row. Also met with boss, and they're going to start cross-training me to help out with one of the other departments. Too much lately my work load has been rather light and they're going to make me useful (and not bored) again, which is great. :) Plus make myself yet that more knowledgeable and learn even more. Did I mention I hate stagnant work? Give me something new, complex, and interesting any day and I'll be a very happy camper. So we'll have to see how that goes. Unfortunately since I work in a different location, the best times for me to be trained (at least initially) are going to be on the weekends. Oh well, it should be worth it.

school, recap, work
