Bisphenol A

Thanks to macman47 for pointing me to this article on polycarbonate plastics:

My question is, is this the kind of plastic used in the water bottles on water coolers (either 11L or 18L variety)? I think it is because my bottle's recycling code has a number 7 with the letters "PC" under it (although 7 by itself just designates "other").

Other questions:
How old is "old"? Our bottles are two years old.
What qualifies as a "harsh" detergent? I usually clean ours with a bit of vinegar and then several good rinsings.
How hot is too hot? We took one of ours camping and it sat in the sun in the afternoon ...

This is worrisome, but I don't want to be paranoid about it. However, considering the part about the use of this plastic in baby bottles, it seems to me yet another good reason to breast-feed if at all possible.
