One Bloody Night of TV

May 04, 2006 00:56

Long day. Shoot went well, but I got sunburned. Met an adorable Mexican former soap opera star on yesterday's shoot and got to use some of my oh-so-stellar Spanish skills. But I must've done all right 'cause I got the cultural O.K. of the kisses-on-the-cheek good-bye from both him and his translator and no one else did. Go me ( Read more... )

Did Gale come for Locke, or is he playing to what Locke wants to hear?

I'm actually the opposite, happy to see Libby go and unhappy to see Ana die, but I know I'm the odd one out. I think you will find yourself not SO odd.

About the gun: I like that it wasn't a trade. The sex seems less icky to me, and less misogynistic.

And on a different note: Logan Huntzberger--you would like him more if, like me, you only started watching GG this past summer. :) Without Rory's past love history, he seems challenging but interesting. And cute.

Did Gale come for Locke, or is he playing to what Locke wants to hear? good question.

i have a thought too...do you think michael would've killed anyone else if THEY had been the one guarding Henry? Like, do you think if it had been Jack or Locke, he still would've done it? it's kind of a moot point, but i was just thinking about it. I also can't decide if his decision was spur of the moment or if it was a plan, because if it was a plan, it hung on a lot of out-of-his-control-contingencies and variables like ana having a gun and all that.

Not so odd? good to know. :)

It's better, it's nicer, that the sex wasn't a trade, I agree, but I really don't think that how it went down with the gun was in character. Sawyer would've noticed she took it immediately. So unless Sawyer had some reason to pretend he was only "just discovering" she took it, which certainly could be possible, I felt Ana simply taking it and Sawyer not noticing was a little jarring, in terms of Sawyer's character ( ... )

I am drunk right now, so I opinion are either a little skewed or very true, but I don't think your reviews are negative. I think some people (including me sometimes) take this show a little too seriously sometimes, but eh, what are ya gonna do? They set a great standard in Season 1 and are trying to out-do it in Season 2 instead of just living up to the hype. But yeah, I thought it was a very interesting episode, and I'm interested to see where they take it on the way to the season finale.

But trust me...you are NOT being negative :)

And I'm totally over the love triangle too. But I think it is definitely only because I am in love with Jack. :)

thanks. i take the show too seriously, and i try to dial it back, but truth is I'm working all the time now so there's not much else in my life to focus on, so that's just the way it is! oh well. thanks for the assurances, they make me feel better. :)

yeah, i'm in the same boat as you. and i know they're never going to resolve it, so i think i'm just gonna check out on it, try to stop caring.

All looks great, save Sawyer holding Kate in his arms while she's crying.

I've already started hoping that she's just so upset because Jack is all bothered over Ana's death, he won't talk, he'll only dig her grave (or something like that), so she starts crying and Sawyer happens to be there.

Whatever way it goes, I love Evangeline Lilly, so I'm sure I'll be into it. *g* (One Wednesday night, I was at work and I walked into a suite and it was around 9:45, and they had the tv volume up really high. All I could hear was a woman crying, and without even looking at the screen I said "LOST! Whatever the Case May Be! KATE! JACK!" Is that sad? I didn't even hear the "It belonged to the man that I loved!" bit.)

The more I think about these two, and the more the season progresses, the more I think they're developing a very platonic relationship. I don't know what it is, but I can't shake the idea. Especially the way he holds her in the promo for 21.

And like you said, he was definitely jealous of Jack/Kate, but I think it's more in a way that he's lonely, than a sexual thing, esp. that look he gives Ana afterwards. No, I don't think he wants to cuddle and confess his love to her, but he wants company.

Gawd, I'm turning Sawyer into a pussy in my head. Oh well.

I didn't know Ana and Libby died in this ep, and up until Ana placed the gun in Michael's hand, I didn't suspect he'd be the killer, but it all fits into place now.

Not sure if the Others want Locke, or if Gale is fucking with him. I can't tell with that guy, he freaks me the hell out!

that's the perfect way to describe that look. 'cause it's not like I thought he was suddenly in love with her or something, it was like, he wouldn't have minded if she hadn't bolted right away. but I couldn't really pinpoint exactly what it was about the look. loneliness is dead on.

i figured they died in this episode 'cause of the title. i didn't know michael would be the killer, but I thought he might have something to do with it. when ana gave him the gun, i was like...oh....shit. here it comes.

henry gale is one cool ass mofo. i hope he stays alive for a long long time.

2. Is it wrong that the sex scene between Sawyer and Ana did nothing for me, but when Ana comes back in the hatch and Jack brushes her hair from her forehead, that got me? This only confirms that I'm so hopelessly Jack-ified that I can't be helped. It's actually kind of sad.

It was how secretly thrilled Ana Lucia was that he did that sealed it for me. Aww, my poor dead girl, almost as many issues as my poor (not dead, not ever, Lindelof, I CAN FIND OUT WHERE YOU LIVE) boy.

3. The Others wanted Locke, huh? Sent Gale to get him. Interesting.

Or Gale's playing him like he strove to play Ana. I'm cool with either option, frankly.

6. Oh Michael. Most fans will revere you for killing Ana Lucia. And dislike you for killing Libby. So it's a 50/50. I'm actually the opposite, happy to see Libby go and unhappy to see Ana die, but I know I'm the odd one out. Word. I saw a great deal of potential with Ana Lucia, especially since MRod has been bringing up her game, but something about the combination of the writing and Cynthia Watros's line ( ... )

yeah, the look on her face was just great then. it was like, even after just getting it on with Sawyer, having jack touch her was what she really wanted. and lol on the I CAN FIND OUT WHERE YOU LIVE. If that ever happens, I shall join you in your pursuit. There will be a major beat down.

MRod really had been doing so much better lately. She really stepped up. I always thought Cynthia Watros' acting style left something to be desired.

Yeah, I think I've spazzed more about the Claire/Jack-family thing than the two deaths. how much would Jack freak to find out that Claire is his half-sister? i don't think Claire would be terribly upset, she'd probably be happy even, but i think Jack would have a really hard time with it, with his father never telling him.
