The latest household addition...
So... back in July I posted about our closest family friends of many, many years moving to California.
The day of their departure their cat ran away and we promised to look in and try and save him. They had someone who had said they'd take him if found but then recanted and said they'd attempt to find him a home but no guarantees.
So we found him... and Sammy the Cat has been installed since then.
For many weeks he hid under our bed, coming out to eat and use his box - most of the time.
Then something just changed. Who knows what... but he is now a permanent part of our bedding.
If I'm on the bed, then he's attached to whatever body part he can lay on first.
He's 15 and we've explained to the girls it's not like getting a kitten where you have them forever... our 6 yo has already picked out his "plot" next to our old dog's grave as warped as that sounds.
But he's definitely part of the family now... even the dogs won't try and take his place on the bed... which is typically stealing the hubby's pillow if he thinks he can get away with it. :)
