Training and Results

I started my Couch 2 5k training on the 8th. My knee has been feeling great and since the diet changes have improved my energy I figured this would be a good time to start rebuilding my stamina.

I choose a fairly level and straight running path along the Pantano Wash. Less people, pretty view, and close to my apartment.

Armed with my app, headphones, and music I hit the black top.

Not the greatest land speed record by any means, but it's a starting point. The program requires running three times a week for nine weeks, which I've managed by going straight from work to the river trail. And after five training sessions here is where I'm at.

Logically I know that training improves performance. Looking at the numbers I'm seeing the improvement. However, I'm still flummoxed that I'm actually improving. It doesn't feel like I'm really going any faster, but apparently I am.

As for my knee, I'm keeping a close watch on it. Another set back would be hugely counterproductive. I need to be doing more stretching though. I've been bad about yoga lately.
