that statement pertains to many things.
1. first and foremost, "the notebook" is out on dvd, and i own it, and love it just as much. now we have settled down to wait on "the wedding date" to become available.
2. every year you think, or maybe it's just me, that perhaps next year it will not happen. someone in high authority will sit down with a calendar and a red pen, after being commanded to eliminate one holiday, and draw a big red X on february 14th. personally i think st. valentine (whoever he was) would have been appalled at the annual cheese-fest that bears his name. correct, i am talking about valentine's day. a day created simply to mock the single folk who, on every other day, are pretty much fine with their relationhsip-status. for those in relationships, it is a day full of forced "romance", stupid things like poetry (if you are a boy, never write me a poem. just a side note), and expensive meals taken, after a very long wait, in a restaraunt full of other forcedly romantic couples, all trying to out-romance eachother. it is definitly in my top 3 list of most cliched holidays in the history of the world. actually, it's probably number one.
3. on to better things, this time of year also means formals (hurrah!) so tomorrow, we are all hopping on a bus for the approximately 7 hour trip to memphis, where on saturday night, there will be a party on a riverboat, which is neat. all i can say is, this time i'm there, someone better take me to Graceland. because last time, after the state track meet my senior year, everyone just wanted to go home, and i missed out on the mecca of the south. THEN next weekend, another bus ride will take us all to the atl, and the great turner field (the other mecca of the south, it's possible that there's more than one), where jay has promised to somehow get us on the field. i will be wearing water-proof mascara in case i cry.
4. now also means it is time for lent. my favorite part of the lent process is watching protestants giving up various things and torture themselves about it until easter. there was the time that anna and ellie gave up like, carbs and sugar, which they found pretty much limited their diet to lettuce. krisan (along with, apparently, all 3 of my other roomies, they knew i couldn't handle it) gave up carbonation yesterday, and then promptly went to sonic and got a coke float. upon which decion, she came to the conclusion that God hated her for her unfaithfulness. i think He's more about the intention, k. i myself have decided not to give anything up this year, in light of how well i have handled all the new years resolutions i made. as a baptist, it is ok for me to do this and not feel that i am a bad person :).
5. it is also time for spring clothes. i am now being tortured, not only by j.crew, but an entire slew of others, including old navy, urban outfitters, gap, and the buzz. a fund has been set up to buy me spring clothes.
