That's right folks, I was at the movies last night, and let me tell you, I LOVED M. Night Shyamalan's newest flick. It received terrible reviews, and so many people belived it to be this scarey as hell horror flick and were too chicken assed to go and see it. Wow, mistaken. Those of you who enjoy M. Night's films, or are interested in fantasy/adventure films, you would definately enjoy this particular movie.
The film centers around Story, a water-nymph who is caught between worlds, and is trying to find her way back home to her 'blue-world'. She is found in a swimming pool of an apartment complex, by Cleveland Heep, the superintendant, played superbly by Paul Giamatti. Along the path of her trying to find her way home, we are delivered through a children's story told in part by this oriental woman and her daughter. We are told of these evil creatures that hide in the grass, and will stop at nothing to prevent Story from returning home. There are also additional creatures that can be found in the trees, although none of these have been seen in ages, these creatures fight those who would attack Story. As the plot progresses, we learn many of the tenants have special roles/powers in the task of assisting Story find her way home. We have a Healer, a Guild, a Guardian... who I may add is the only one who is able to stand up against the creatures that are intent on preventing Story from returning home. The creatures are amazing... somewhat creepy, but honestly nothing scarier than what you'd see in a Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings film.
My two-cents... I definately will be purchasing the dvd. I LOVED the film. Was another masterpiece in true M. Night fashion. Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village), was a very talented actress, who plays the part of Story. Very well done.
Anyhoo... I'm just finishing up my cereal here, and then I'm on my way to work, a little early even. I'm actually hitching a ride with Richard. Too cheap to take the bus I guess. :oP Well I just figured if I went in early I could do a little more training on the CBT computer, and get ahead with putting away my massive Coke/Pepsi orders, and likely the Milk order too, since nights seldom puts it away. Plus, I'm supposed to be heading over to my mom's tonight for a bbq, if the weather holds out. I figured I'd leave maybe 15-30 minutes early if I could get away, who am I kidding, I will be leaving 15-30 minutes early...and if anyone has issues with that, namely Brenda....TFB...!!!! I've decided to stop listening to these people, they don't employ me, why listen to them, they should be listening to me if anything. I am their assistant manager, not the other way around. So yeah... I can't wait for Dale to be back from holidays...I'm very much thinking of taking another meeting with him, and perhaps a meeting with George as well. Stuff certainly needs to be taken care of, and if they both decide it's best to let it be, fine... the store will go under, and close within the next two years no doubt.
Well, I hope everyone has an AMAZING weekend. I'm working all weekend, and all next week basically, I'm on a 6 day stretch of shifts again. 2 Day shifts, and then 4 Midnights...:-| Ahh, the joys of the shift worker.
Anyhoo... TTFN
