Not that it was a horrible year or anything. It was actually pretty decent. The one thing I did last year that I would change was I bought a car. I paid cash for said car. If I could go back and change things, I would go back and spend all that money on a really great down payment on a brand new car. *sighs*
So now I have a used car that is paid off but breaking down...catastrophically. >.<
The mechanic wants another $4000 to fix it. And I had to pay out $1100 just to keep myself safe! At the end of this month, the inspection will expire and it will not pass another inspection. I could cry.
So the next month or so is going to be me saving up as much as possible to put down on a new car. I am thinking a Hyundai Elantra if it doesn't cost too much to repair them. They have a really good warranty. Otherwise, I also like the Kia...Sedona? No...the sedan they have. I cannot think. But that is the other car I really like. The main reason I like these two vehicles is that they are inexpensive. They both start under $15k. I like Hondas and Toyotas, I just don't think I can afford them.
I have had such bad luck with used cars that I really think I want to go with new this time. I know there is major depreciation and all that, but I cannot afford the repair bills on a used car. I am pretty sure I can budget in a car payment as long as it isn't huge. I really wish I had the money I used for the car from last year. That would make a huge difference. I am going to ask for money for my birthday as well. It may not be much, but even a couple hundred helps when it comes to big purchases like this. I just hope I can qualify for a loan. x . x
Beyond that whole situation occupying way too much of my thoughts, I am having a lot of problems with depression right now. My meds are off after a slight accidental overdose last weekend and that is not helping matters. It upset me more than I can say that I took too much of one of my meds. It was actually over several days and that was even more upsetting because I never noticed I was taking the wrong dosage. >.< I felt and still feel pretty darn stupid.
I have also been pretty sick ever since. Just little things, but it's like my body is in rebellion after that. I feel like my body is betraying me some days. *sighs* I will live, but it is one more thing.
I went home early Thursday morning so I could get some extra sleep as I was falling asleep on my keyboard. Of course, I get there and my roommate is there and has finally decided that she needs to do something about the apartment. Most of the something she wanted to do was shove everything into my room. *sighs* She did figure out that we could put all the empty totes out in the storage closet. And she did take all the cardboard out to the dumpster for me. And I did figure out that there isn't that much to go into storage if I move things around a little bit, it's only two totes worth. Most of the empty totes belong to my parents, so I should be able to pawn them off on them when I finally get them to come to the apartment.
Her timing was spaztastic, though. I was so exhausted and sick this morning. Granted, she helped me figure out that I may have been drinking some tea that was upsetting my stomach. And she helped me treat the heartburn I had. But I wanted to come home and go to sleep. >.< Oh well. *shrugs* That's life, right?
So I am depressed, but I have a friend coming into town this weekend on Saturday! I am excited about that and am planning on spending Friday night and Saturday morning cleaning my bedroom. Friday during the day I am at my parent's place watching the dogs while they are out of town and I do laundry. Since I do know what needs to be dome in my room, it is only a matter of actually getting down to doing it. I now have a compelling reason to do it. :] It still isn't going to look great, but it will be set up with a corner for my easel, which will make me ecstatic.
Maybe I will even find the time this week to work on the painting in my head and the drawing of the puppies for my Mom. I have worked on one of the preliminary sketches, but not so much on the others. I hope to work on at least one of them Friday while I am doing laundry between naps. *lol* We have so many great shots of the dogs, but I want to make sure I really get the right angles and look on their eyes. We shall see how it turns out. I also have to pick up the lighthouse picture I had framed for my Aba for Father's day. One of these days I will get everything up on Deviantart, too.
I think that is enough for now.
