Eryn's B-day, episode II

Jan 27, 2006 10:30

Eryn's birthday has now come and gone. And it was a great day. It turned out to be on the vacation day we had between J-term and Spring semester. Lucky break! And now I've kept you all in suspense long enough, so...here's what happened. Minus all the planning, arranging and preparing. You don't need to hear that. Just assume I put a lot of time into all this.

Wednesday started out pretty basic, slept in til 10, then got up and got all niced up. Shaved very carefully, even trimmed my goatee, wore khakis and Eryn's favorite bard tunic, and then practiced her love songs on guitar. Then lunch came, we ate at the DC, nothing special there. We then went to the library, did our basic stuff. By this point she was going crazy, because she knew I had things planned, but she didn't know when, and so far it was turning out to be an average day. So we went back to her apartment and cuddled.

Then the first activity came. I left and got things prepared, and here's what happened. About forty minutes after I left, Eryn got a phone call from an anonymous deep-voiced man (who she thought was me, but was actually Luke) telling her she was being sent on a quest by...The Gazelle. He then read her a poem clue, which sent her to her car. There she discovered her first gift: a full gas tank. The clue in her car then sent her to the library, where she checked her email and discovered a newly written love poem, courtesy of me. Then that clue sent her to the Cougar Den, where Dawn awaited her with her next present and clue. The present was a beautiful new bible, complete with page ribbon, leather blue binding, gold-edged pages, Jesus red letters, glossaries, filled out dedication page, so on. To get this, she had to sing "The B-I-B-L-E", which she reluctantly did. Then that clue sent her to the Fieldhouse, where Jeremy awaited her with movie tickets to Tristan & Isolde. there was a brief mix-up, due to Jeremy's misunderstanding about which movie it was, but it got worked out. his clue then sent her back to her apartment, where I was sitting playing love songs on my guitar, and the final gift of the scavenger hunt was the premiere of my newest love song, By the Sea.

so then we cuddled for a bit and watched a movie, and her parents came by and gave her gifts. then I went and got really dandied up. full sexy attire: my best dress shoes, socks, blue dress pants, really hott blue dress shirt with matching blue tie, golden Poulson tie tac, silver pocket watch, and my brand new blue suit jacket. then I went and picked her up, and might I add that even though I had dressed my best, she still looked better than me. so I took her to Red Lobster, where we had a very romantic dinner, and I even allowed her to get an alcoholic drink (nothing major, strawberry daquari (dackery? dakari?) or something like that). As we got ready to go, I gave her the last gift: a golden necklace with two gold and jeweled roses, made of Black Hills gold, very pretty.

Now, at this point it was about 6:30. I had arranged a surprise party for 7. it takes 10, MAYBE 15 minutes to get back to campus. so I stalled. literally. I went and took a lot more time in the bathroom than necessary. hee hee, get it? stalling in the stall? wow, I rock my world. ok, so I finally wasted enough time, and we got back to her apartment, where she almost had a heart attack after fifteen or so people jumped out at her upon opening the door. So we had cake and snacks and Tang and played several long games of Mafia, and eventually people cleared out. so I finished up the dishes and put Eryn to bed. and it was a wonderful, wonderful day.

you know, I thought Eryn would've already updated about her birthday...but apparently it wasn't important enough...oh well...so much for effort...*Sigh*

Nah, just kidding, she's been busy. last night we used those tickets and saw Tristan & Isolde, which was a great movie, with Eryn sobbing in my arms through much of it. who could ask for more, right?

Well, fun stuff. until next time!
