comedownstairs 1. Elaborate on your default icon.
Right now it's the Doctor leaping a horse through a mirror, and the words "Never Listen to Reason". It's from the Doctor Who episode 'The Girl in the Fireplace'. I screencapped it myself as soon as I'd finished watching the episode, 'cause it rocked so hard. Then some months later I finally got around to teaching myself to icon properly, and made this one up. And the text is actually an abridgement of a quote from the episode. "Oh, you never want to listen to reason..." It's a Quixotic statement, I like those. :?P
2. What's your current relationship status?
Single.
3. Ever have a near-death experience?
Not really. One of my great-grandfathers did, though...or was it great-grandmas? Full light tunnel and loved ones calling 'em through and all.
4. Name an obvious quality you have.
Overthinking? *snerk*
5. What's the name of the song stuck in your head right now?
Right now I'm listening to "Lords of Kobol", from the Battlestar Galactica S2 soundtrack. So anything else that might be in my head is being sonically disrupted.
6. Name a celebrity you would marry.
Summer Glau. (I'd say Emilie de Ravin, but someone beat me to it, and I respect that...all happiness to the lovely lady and all.)
7. Who will cut and paste this first?
Dunno...maybe
weyoun21?
8. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
A few times, actually. Got Johnny Depp once from a girl at the checkout in a store. Have also heard Elijah Wood (actually, my coworked said 'Frodo'...think the hair figured in), Tom Welling (minus the height, natch) from a few people, and Brandon Routh from one of my bosses at work. Bit of a theme there at the end...
9. Do you wear a watch? What kind?
Almost always have my battered digital. Big fan of the alarm function, either to remind me to do things (it's digital string tied around your finger!), or to wake me up from a lunch hour nap at work...
10. Do you have any piercings?
Nope.
11. Do you have any tattoos?
Also nope.
12. Do you like pain?
Apart from the occasional dramatic catharsis of watching "Die Me, Dichotomy" or the like, not so much, no.
13. Do you like to shop?
For books and action figures, sure. Otherwise, eh. (Hey, I'm a guy!)
14. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
Hmm...can't really remember.
15. What's the last thing you paid for with a credit card?
Gas and comic books.
16. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
Mom, checking if she needed anything from Target.
17. What is on your desktop background?
A picture
alorarose put together for me: the TARDIS on a planet, with Serenity and Moya flying into the sky above.
18. What is on the background of your cell phone?
Fireworks. I never bother with my cell much, so one day my sister stole it and insisted on setting the background and screensaver.
19. Do you like redheads?
That's gonna have to be a yes...
20. Do you know any twins?
I did in school. There was a pair of identicals in my class, and a pair of fraternals that were friends of mine. The fraternals were Evan and Brian Kleve, both genius musicians. Brian was known as 'Fro', because he was a white Jewish kid with the biggest afro you've ever seen. It was insanely impressive.
21. Do you have any weird relatives?
Aren't they all? *snerk*
22. What was the last movie you watched?
'The Last Starfighter'. And it was totally as cheesygreat as I remembered it being from my youth. *g*
23. What was the last book you read?
Hmm...last book I finished was probably "Go Ask Malice: A Slayer's Diary", a Buffy novel about Faith before she came to Sunnydale in season three. Currently reading "Last Chance to See" by Douglas Adams (awesome book where the writer of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy traveled around the world visiting endangered animals in their native habitats), a Doctor Who novel called "Drift" (4th Doctor/Leela running around with a US alien hunter team in the New Hampshire snow) and...err, actually that's it just at this moment. Probably start something else at work today, though. Oh...and I did get about a third of the way through 'Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell' a while back, but have kind of let that one fall by the wayside. It was pretty good, and very well done, but kind of a slow read, and I haven't been as much in the mood for that in a while...
