A quietly momentous day here in Elfland...

Came to a rather big decision today. The kind that makes you a bit numb trying to slide your head around it.

I had a meeting today at BW, the college I'm (re)starting at in the fall, to pick classes with my advisor. And I did, according to the plan I'd been working from...to go mostly through their evening/weekend program. And while I got a decent schedule worked out, it turned out to be a lot harder than I'd thought it was going to be to get good classes (or classes that interest me, anyway) on an evening/weekend schedule.

So I walked away from the meeting feeling a bit disgruntled. And it got me thinking again...what was this setup really doing for me? An awkward schedule where I'm taking some classes that only half interest me. A history minor instead of a theater minor, since evening/weekend students don't have much access to theater classes or time to participate in productions. And maybe in two years, if I take summer classes, I'll have a piece of paper which might get me into grad school, if I want to keep being a student through my thirties.

Nope, not giving up on school.

The reverse, in fact. I went home, I talked this over with mom, talked about fun things like health care and finances, and decided...

I'm going to school full time. With the theater minor after all. Which also means...I shall finally be escaping Retail Hell. (Working more on the farm, and possibly a campus job as well, but still...fiiiiiinally!)

This will actually be the first time I'll be in college without working retail on the side. Gonna be a neeeeeew experience for me. Looking forward to this, methinks...WOOT!

Now let's just hope I can get the new schedule worked out without too much headaching for anyone involved, and my financial aid...

Send good vibes, thanks!
