Third Time is the Charm

One of our vendors is in town. Whenever this vendor comes to town they like to take us out for a treat. This year we went to dinner and a Tigers game. The game was good, and it's always nice to see the Tiger win. Dinner however, was interesting.

We went to a place right across the street from Comerica Park. I'll grant that it was loud in there. They were pretty busy and we were a large group. So I wasn't too upset or even surprised when the first time they brought out my burger it was wrong. It had cheddar, I had ordered swiss. The next one they brought out had swiss, but this time it was a turkey burger.

Close but no cigar guys.

By this point I was really getting hungry. If the guy hadn't beat such a hasty retreat with the turkey burger I probably would have just taken it out of starvation. Still, we all thought the situation was pretty amusing.

They managed to get it right the next time and I think I inhaled that burger in near record time. Later the waitress came by to tell me they were comping my burger and the burger of the girl next to me (hers only had to be sent back to the kitchen once) and taking 50% off the bill.

That amused me since I wasn't paying in the first place. At least I got an amusing story out of it and I guess the vendor got a deal on the meal!
