So, let us start off with the cool stuff.
Last night the Private View at the Natural History Museum was GREAT! And so was afternoon tea beforehand (£400 though, ftw??) But it had everything afternoon tea should have - cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off, scones, crumpets, cakes, and mainly, lots of champagne, in Sloane Square, surrounded by the posh.
Waitress: Have you looked at the menu and decided what you want?
Boss: Champagne tea for 11.
Waitress: Okay, I can tell you the cake selection and the tea or coffee selection...
Boss: We don't want tea, or coffee, we just want champagne. And bring us a selection of the food, we're not bothered.
:: food arrives, champagne arrives ::
Waitress: Is everything okay?
Boss: No, we need more champagne.
And then we walked to the NHM, where we were forced to have more champagne. Lots of it. I spoke to Lord Bath and one of his wifelets (he has millions, they are officially called 'wifelets'.) and various other people. It was such a lovely evening in cool surroundings. I have loads of pics, which I will post shortly.
So as of today our 'press count' is: Evening Standard, London Lite, London Paper, Metro, Guardian, Today Prog on Radio 4 and probably others I haven't seen.
And the downside...
Today we were officially given three months notice to leave the studio. Bummer. The reason we're being made to leave is that the gas board (Transco) have sold the land to the Electric board (Southern) who are demolishing everything on the site, and using the land as an access point to their HUGE new ringmain (4 metre round tunnel in a huge circle under London). So, basically, we don't know where we're going to go or what we're going to do. There's talk of a move Westward, which would be great. We really want to get out of Peckham (although I'm not sure the Boss does) But I would LOVE to end up in Wandsworth or somewhere. Would stop farcical things happening, like my train this morning being cancelled WHEN IT REACHED MY STOP. Bastards, which left almost too many people to fit on Hove's small platform! And meant I was well late for work. Although not as late as a lot of other people XD
