Today was not such a bad day. I got a lot of work done today,
First, I slept in late so I would be rested and feel like doing something, then i got up and fixed an early lunch. Chris had left some rotisserie chickin in the refrigerater from late last night and I made two chicken sandwiches with some of it. man, was it ever good!
After that I ran some things back to my local Library and checked out a few more---mainly movies---some westerns, a few horror movies, and a few from other countries. Those will give me something to do for the next few nights. After that I mowed my yard. Yesterday I had primed the front door I had to install. Yes, I said new front door.
It seems that Christopher's girlfriend got locked out one day when she came home from work. She called Christopher and he came and broke the door and cut the deadbolt out and opened the other lock. This, of course demolished my old door, which was weather worn and about ready for the dump anyways. I had talked a few weeks ago of buying a new one.So we had to hurry out to the Home Depot and get a new one. Christopher mounted the new door temporarily on the old hinges until last weekend when he ripped the old frame out and put in the new one.
I guess Christopher is pretty much my handyman of all trades as he has put in windows and doors, garage doors, shingled and installed roofs, put in rain gutters, helped install siding, tiled floors, fixed holes in drywalls, fixed vehicles, welded materials, pressure washed houses, mowed lawns, cut hair, cooked meals and changed diapers (along with a multitude of other household duties). Therefore I am happy to have him around here.
The front door is now ready for me to paint, both inside and out. I inspected it well and Christopher did a beautiful job. He leveled it well, caulked the cracks and put in new frames around the door. I am impressed! I will paint it next weekend.
Overall, it was a fantastic day. Tomorrow is my last day of vacation and monday I will head back to work. I know Velma is anxious to see me as she called Friday to see how I was doing and asked if I would be there Monday. I am anxious to see her also. I have a little present for her.
