Stayed for the workshop after my figure drawing class.
And our model was very late.
It gave Karl and me a chance to chit chat.
he's a nice, very cool teacher.
who recommends motorcycles over scooters (Vespa has a highway-approved one), for longer-distance/time trips.
Smaller vehicles are more tiring, apparently.
Good to know. :)
He also knows of a great place to get loose leaf tea in China Town. I'm sure Sarah knows of a few good places, too. (hint hint)
Anyway... The model was super late.
So at one point I asked "So what's her name"?
Karl said "Oh, err, Charlotte."
Charlotte? Hey I wonder if this is the same Charlotte I knew from the dorms last fall?
She lived on the 6th floor. (ping for Charlotte- same)
"Hey! I knew a girl named Charlotte in my dorm last year... Maybe this is the same one?"
"That'sss.... pretty unlikely. I mean, in this whole city, there has to be at least on other Charlotte... hehe."
"maybe you're right, karl.."
"It's a pretty, uh, southern name, isn't it?"
"I.. don't know." I guess it is, but I never thought about it. So Karl got up to check for the model again, who walked through the door about a minute later.
It was Charlotte from the 6th floor!!! I nearly fell off my drawing horse, laughing.
"I know you!!!"
SO after the workshop yesterday, I was standing outside the warehouse, waiting for an academy bus.
because I was dizzy with sleeplessness (see previous post) so walking was a no-go.
Talking with Charlotte, we saw a very tall girl with a rather sizeable portfolio bag.
We talked about how freakin' huge it was, and then Charlotte decided to walk home. So I continued talking with the tall girl.
She mentioned that last semester she had to use her mother's old sewing bag as a portfolio.
"It was all shitty and nasty, 'cause she took it everywhere! Like on road trips with her friends... They went to," she rolled her eyes. "Sewing conventions and clubs..."
I immediately thought of Mrs Bevan. I wondered if she was from the Seattle Area.
"...But then someone gave me a gift certificate to Daniel Smith, and I was like 'Hell Yea'!!!..."
Daniel Smith?!
I interrupted her.
"Are you from Seattle?" She blinked.
"yes-- are you?"
"I'm from Woodinville!!"
"Omigosh I'm from Bellevue!"
we talked about schools and Kirkland, Kenmoore... etc. at one point, while on the bus, she asked me
"do you know a Jeff Stan..sans...lawst..staniz.."
"--Stanislawski?"
"yea!"
"YEA! I know Stan!! I go to his LAN parties! I'm in his D&D group!!"
"really?!?! Oh my gosh!! I used to volunteer with him in Bellevue."
"ohh yea.. that's where he had the drunk kids puking in his car.."
"he did? O that's right- he was one of the drivers... he was older wasn't he?"
The bus turned onto Sutter.
"So do you know.. umm. what's his screenname...? Sami yosa? samiss.."
"Samisyosam?"
"yea!!.."
"Yea I know Phil!! His brother's name is Tom! Good folks. Haven't seen them in a while, sadly. Had a bit of a falling out, I guess.."
"yea.. he sorta vanished for me, too... He was kinda creepy..."
"Yea when you're no longer entertaining for Phil, he vanishes."
"I used to be, like, really mean to him online.... Maybe try to get him to go away..?"
"just eggs him on.."
"yea I told him I would, like, slice his sack off if he came near me..."
"hehehe... I'm sure he was amused."
We got to my stop.
"Hey do you know... Chops?"
"Nick Wright? yea I know him-- I'm friends with his sister, Anna. All you need to know about Chops is that he's a bum, and needs to bathe and get a job." (thinking to myself, "is he still at Macy's?")
"O! Well.. Tell Jeff I say hi!!"
"I will- what's your name, again?"
"Sarah D----!"
"cool-- see you later, Sarah!"
I called Stan as soon as I got off the bus. He was pleased.
And hopefully I'll get to see him before I come home for Christmas, as he and his family will be visiting the area anyway. :)
Now... laundry.
