Where luck really comes from.

Doctor: *looks at X-Ray with puzzled expression* Now ... what do we have here? *looks at close-up X-Ray* Oh ... my ....

Intern: *enters in a rush, stops, stares, jaw drops, files fall out of hands, points to X-Ray* Is that a horseshoe up her a--?

Doctor: Yes. Yes, it is.

So ... I lost my bus pass for the umpteenth (not literally 27th, but it's been enough) time today. Cheap plastic case + high winds = big rip.

I was waiting at the stop so I could go to work this morning, the bus pulled up, the doors opened, I held up my pass and whoosh! off it went to Thorold (I'm rather sure it could've made it that far given the weather). So there I was holding up a picture without an actual pass. Looking hopelessly cute in my confusion/trama. Thankfully the driver a) knew me and b) saw the wind steal my pass way far away. He offered to help.

We arrived at the terminal and he came to the counter with me to explain what happened. I was given and number and a name, as well as the driver's operator number for witness purposes.

Nine o'clock in the morning rolls around, I give the number a call. I get a hold of the office assistant, who directs me to the answering service of the guy I was supposed to call. I left a message regarding what happened.

Half an hour later I get a phone call back from the guy saying that he was already told about what happened and a new bus pass would be ready and waiting for me at the terminal by 3 pm.

So, I now have a shiny new February bus pass (I was given two bus tickets for free in order to get me home and back to the terminal in the meanwhile) and a very lucky horseshoe.

Go me. :D
