so, I went home to long island this weekend. so good. I always have to conjour up every bit of motivation and drive I've ever had for myself professionally, in order to get onto that plane and leave my mom standing there in the almost empty terminal. that image (or images, since this has happened so many times throughout four years) will break my heart forever. sometimes I wonder if the strength and determination I've had in the past is enough to carry me through for another semester and a half. I can only hope it is.
nobody said it was easy. no one ever said it would be this hard.
or, in the words of Jilly: "...I'm going over the long beach bridge right now, on my way to 2-4 doz. bagel, wishing you were here. sometimes, I wonder, if your education is worth my pain and suffering of not being able to see you everyday." <3
speaking of jilly, haha...friday night we went to see Winnie the Pooh's HEFFALUMP movie (our valentine's day date), and it was more amazing than I ever thought it could be. I think we were both crying out of excitement to be in the prescence of a) each other and b) pooh, pals, and the heffalump family. golden reef(er) diner afterwards of course, for two bagels, "all the way." incredible.
earlier on friday, my mom and I went to the NY Hall of Science in queens, haha. I hadn't been there since about, 5th grade, and they just re-modled it around November, so we decided to go for it. It was my me, my mom, and about 17 bus loads of cranky, hungry kids. We def had a ball with it though, and I made sure to thouroughly explain every exhibit to my mom...we couldn't move on until she fully understood the science behind it...hahaha. dork. I even bought a mini microcope and a poster of the bones of the human body. wow. haha.
saturday, I spent alot of time with my family, the whole day really. I needed it bad. and sunday, I was on a plane headed back to orlando. sigh. next to me, there was this blonde, skinny girl...sitting next to this guido italian from the rockaways...I had to listen to them schmoozing the whole time (not really listen, thanks to a little invention called the ipod that I thank God for creating every day). she goes to (gasp) UCF! she's a (gasp) communications major! shes orginally from (gasp) south carolina! she's (gasp) in a soriority! the guid was talking a bunch of shit about working in "consulting" and "traveling." you know he was meeting his wife and kids at the airport to have a nice weekend at disney together, while getting this whore's phone number in the process. ugh. first class from now on, I've decided. haha.
I just cleaned up the photos and pictures on my computer, so I decided to end this entry with a hodgepodge (if you will) of random pictures. enjoy!
the following are a few pictures of hippos (and one elephant) that me and jilly found online one night. (we're obsessed with hippos, incase you didn't know, due to a very inspiring "That's My Baby!" on Animal Planet a couple of years back).
