okay i'm not going to drop out. idk if i'll go back in the fall, but i'm not dropping out right now. i'm not nearly as behind in psych as i thought i was, i've gotten the highest grade on everything in stage craft, and i've gotten all As in ceramics too (and i'm positive i'll get an A on my current project, too). history might be more of a problem, but i'm going to try to pull that up too.

in other news, i started a new project in ceramics!

obviously it's missing a head haha but i'm pretty happy with it so far. i wish i had a picture of what it started out as, but it was basically a 7" cube of clay with 4" diameter discs of clay stuck to the sides where the shoulders now are. i had to carve off at least an inch and a half off the front and back of the cube, and then i started trimming pieces off the sides of the cubes to make it narrower. almost all of the rest of it was carving too, except for where i had to add on to the left shoulder to make them even. i've gotta fix the slope of the shoulders too, the one on the left isn't even with the right one. after i get that done, i think i might need to take off the clay i added to it to even them out, lol. i've been mostly basing it off me, since i don't have another model that's in class with me. the neck is pretty much exactly the right size, but the rest is a little hard to measure, haha.

i'm pretty happy with it though. :D i'll take pictures at the end of each class and post them.

the set for noises off is scaring me, though. well, the director's plans for it are. the set is pretty much identical to this, although we don't have those supports underneath the balcony and a few other things are different, but that's basically the idea. and maryanne wants one of the actors to roll over the railing on the second floor and land on a mattress behind the couch. WAT. that's like 11 feet! hopefully she's going to change her mind because seriously? that is dangerous.

we also have to spin the entire set around. twice. per show. and you can see how big it is. it's on a metric ton of casters so it's not that hard to push, but we've only spun it around once, and i wasn't even there, so i haven't had practice yet nor have i seen how it works. most other groups that have performed this have had some sort of giant pin in the center of it, so all you needed to do was push, but we had no way to secure a pin in the center, which means we have this huge thing that needs to go in a very specific directions. HOW FUN.

welllll i guess that's it!

hobbies - ceramics, theatre - noises off, school, hobbies - arts and crafts, theatre, i make good choices
