Here is why I would be able to handle celebrities on my flights (as opposed to some of my co-workers) (and also why I don't belong to fan clubs): they make me embarrassed.
It doesn't matter HOW "famous", if I know, like, or admire someone, I can hardly manage to communicate properly with them. For instance - I'm on the Empires mailing list, and an email came through earlier today with a bunch of stuff in it, and one of those things was information on joining the street team. I thought, hmm. I am often in new cities, whether I'm working or taking a trip for fun, and this would be a good activity to get me out of the hotel on layovers in larger cities, something that can be surprisingly hard to do.
I tapped out a quick email saying I'd love to help, asked a quick question, and sent it off. By the time I got home tonight, I had a response, and I'm not even sure what the reply said because I skimmed over it and then had to close it out, because I'm weird like that. I'm not even a big Tomrad fan, but just the idea of actually exchanging emails makes me want to ignore the internet for a few hours.
SIGH. My life is so hard.
In other news, I have a small backlog of photos from the past year that I haven't done anything with. Here's one of the more awesome ones; I took it from our galley window on the way to LA on Halloween.
