a bit of a comedy of errors

 Tired.  Behind.  Etc.

Lots of dancing - went out to PhB (the blues version of Lab) Monday night, LaB Tuesday night, salsa tonight.  Up to 5000 yds/practice for captain's practices; real ones start at some point next week.

Let's see -  before the epic tale of angst and disliking people - good things.  Sloan has begun to blues dance.  It amuses me, though he's still sketched out by close embrace.   I got a spectacular dance to 'Baby can dance' by Carsie Blanton (who's actually a LaB person herself) where Sloan led every single one of the breaks.  I love the song & it was a lot of fun.  And Glenn and I did a silly dance where we tried to mix in the Lindustrial moves... the bunny hop, and then Sloan laughed at us and yelled "do a cow", so Glenn became a bull and I was a matador.  I don't play around with those things too much - it was spectacular.  And I got to chat with some of the UD contingent (no Alex hasn't shown up, yes, I'm ok with that at this point and time), including one of the follows, who was really cool.  Got into the jam circle at the end to really fast music and was able to keep up, started asking the really good leads to dance when I was crazy-tired and could actually follow them.  So life is good, dancing-wise.

There's something about Bryn Mawr girls that rubs me the wrong way.  Granted, it could just be this one -- I've known some really nice ones as well.  Got to my email last night and the top of my inbox was this girl ripping my head off for not getting back to her.  I apologized, then went to figure out what she wanted.  She evidently wanted to go dancing - which, sure, is good.  But if I've never met you before, and the first way I interact with you is you reaming me out for something I don't have control over (my schedule tuesdays is library shift, class, lunch, class, practice, dinner, and then I can check my email again.  apologies all around for less-than-perfect getting-back-to-people, I'm sure), I'm a little less likely to like you.  The issue was that I was going to ruin their evening if I didn't come through as transportation.

DESPITE THE FACT THAT BMC HAS A TRAIN LINE THAT GOES DIRECTLY TO PHILLY AND ISN'T 40 MIN OUT OF MY WAY ON THE WAY HOME.

First person in a while that I honestly Haven't Liked.  I went and picked them up; there's something about a Martyr going out that screams "I go to a women's college".  It might have something to do with the short skirts, high heels, and copious amounts of makeup.  I don't know if you run into that sort of thing, Laura, but... it's frightening, occasionally.  They're out on the prowl.

The head-ripper was a quite good dancer; the other 2 had no idea what they were doing, but they were her ducklings... and kept chatting together in Ukrainian... so whatever.  Let them know that we could head home whenever; they ended up wanting to stay until the very end.  Granted, I haven't been sleeping quite as much as I should, but still:  I was beginning-comatose by 10, woke up a little later, but still very meh.  And so by the time I dropped them off at BMC and got back to Swat, it was 1:30.

And then I was supposed to be back in the city at 8:30 for my ed placement.  So I woke up, having slept very little, caught the 7:54 train in, and proceeded to spend 30 min wandering around Philly turning myself in circles (the tiredness probably working against me; also a 'ooh, I know where I am, Rittenhouse is thatway... wait I'm not supposed to be going thatway two blocks later') and finally made it.  A good placement site, just really out of the way.  Stayed til 10:30 & tried to find my way back to the train station.  Which shouldn't have been a huge deal.  But somehow I missed the train (despite the fact that I'm pretty sure I got there in time...) and missed class because I couldn't get back.  It was... interesting.  I sat at the UPenn station and knit for an hour.

bmc, salsa, practice, lack of sleep, lab, lindy, blues, transportation, powerhouse, swimming
