Adventures at LaB: First there was the question that needed answering: how many people can I fit into a 5-seat car at 1 am coming back to Swat? Naomi, Ashley and I (3) drove up together. Greg and his girlfriend met us there; 2 Bryn Mawr girls did likewise. Both had the option of taking the train back; Greg decided that he and his girlfriend would. Which... I appreciate, as I don't like to be too illegal, but would have preferred their company to the Mawrtyrs. Laura, I mean nothing against your school when I say this, but if you take the stereotypical women's college girls? We had two. And I don't know if I was just grumpy or if I've developed a magical capability to read people -- but uck. So cheerful. So... sparkly 4-inch-stiletto-ey. But I smiled, and made about an hour detour to take them home. (And then talked to Sarah about why I had gotten mad, and she seemed not to get it, but to be scared of angry Allison. Ah, well, life. Today was better.)
Cori was going to come up, and I asked Sloan if he would mind grabbing her, maybe, and evidently he did, because she didn't make it :(
I wanted to dance with my little sister! I grumped at him. (as well)
No, the grumping did not last too terribly long. There was dancing, after all. And the duct tape on my shoes was quite spinny. And there was a cute boy who I got to dance with quite a bit. (Including 2 very nice blues -.-) And I got complimented by Greg (the older one who teaches at Swat, not the senior who I mentioned earlier) which was exciting. I feel like there's a range of "thank you, I had fun" - and I'm starting to recognize it, which is exciting, because it tends to be leaning towards the completely sincere.
I got to be jammed because I was going away for a long period of time. And I think I got to dance with all of the good leads who were there, as well. Said goodbye to a bunch of people for the summer. My french kids better be up to swing dancing!
Today, I stopped being a junior. You know what happens after that? Yeah. Kinda scary. (if you don't, it's the s-word!)
I sat down after lunch and finished the semester. 3 hours on my 20 pg paper (mainly nitpicky citation stuff, actually) that was 18 pages before I cut about 6 of filler... and then started writing again. An hour to study for my take-home final, 2 hours of whipping out a Miss Furry-style essay until my hand felt like it was going to fall off. Dinner, with Naomi, then packing.
Because I leave for France tomorrow o.O
