I'm broken inside...

Dec 07, 2008 16:53

I think I've finally figured out why I've been going so slow. Leaving practice, stressed out, to zoom off to class twice a week? Leaves little time for warm-down. Only a little warm-down? Back = knot after knot after knot. Had a massage party this morning... and then Leish attacked my back for 15 minutes or so, and it's still refused to loosen up. I was pretty sure that only my lower back had issues - flipturns and fly are not happy - but it the various people who attacked it today spent nearly as much time on my shoulder blades as they did the sides of my spine that hurt if I even touch them.

And people getting me to nearly cry because of poking at me = not cool, but I know that they were helping, so....

Meh.

Anyway:
1650, this morning, 19:19. Only a minute & 10 seconds off of my best time (!) not cool, body
500, yesterday, 5:31. There is NO WAY I should be over 5:30. I should be hovering around 5:23/4, not 30. Gah.
100, part of a medley relay, 58.9. For the first 100 I've done all year? decent. Twould be nice to see a 57 in there, though.
50, part of a 200 free relay. 27.2. Pretty good. Huh. Maybe my back and I should turn into a sprinter.

So... Aruba's scaring me a bit. I'm going to be doing doubles, after break, where I learned today I can't swim with EHS, but will have to deal with little EMAC ickles. And I need to be in better shape. Okay. Done whining.

Wedding-ness:
Anne & Mike got married at the top of the Kimmel Center.  Fancy, gorgeous, etc.  Most fun I'd had at a wedding, though I got put to work (of course!).  My mini-printer and I got to take pictures of all of the guests and put them in the guestbook, for the people to sign next to (seeing as Anne and Mike both have our kind of nutty humor, there were everything from formal portraits to someone riding someone else; a mob of teenagers from the other side of the family being goofy.  Turned out very cool, but took all night.  I don't know - I know Anne a lot more than I did Quentin & Jim Jr, so I guess that's part of why I had more fun at this one; but my Mom's side of the family is a lot nuttier than my dad's, and I love getting to be nutty with them.  It was also a lot less trouble to get to it, seeing as Swat is just outside of Philly.  Though the meet, cited above?  happened around the wedding.  so I got to take a train from Lancaster to Philly, and then meet up with family, and Dad drove me back afterwards.  Pics will be up eventually.

So I'm exhausted.  But, I have a giant rosemary plant (for rememberance, the tag says) next to my thyme, so I should be set for finals, right?  (and my room smells good).

100 59 pages of Goethe to go.  For tomorrow, this week.  Urk.
