Long time, no update. Bad hobbit, no biscuit.

*waves to all*

Eek - I just realised that I haven't updated in exactly two months ...

September was absolute madness, as it is every year, with music school starting and all the organisation/problem solving/phoning/headdesking an all. There still are a fair amount of things that aren't going smoothly yet, but it's getting there.

Work rambling )

work, sarah jane adventures, babylon 5, rl, wii

Welcome back! :-)

Liking the job is always good, even if it keeps you busy. More income for Wii games and DVDs is not a bad thing either, I assume. ;-)

SJA is just so much fun! It definitely has an Old!Skool feel to it, just with better effects and non-grainy image. And Sarah Jane gets to be tied up by/for evil aliens again and all. ;-)

Heh - indeed. Or so I tell myself ... like today, in the dvd shop *whistles innocently* :-P

It's funny - last year, I got myself hyped up for Torchwood, and was quite dissapointed when it actually came on (especially with the first few episodes). I was too busy to get all that excited about SJA, but now I've started watching and love the show. One thing that makes Mondays more bearable :-P

Now if only we could get the Brig to appear in the show I'd be one happy bunny.

Speaking of SJA - do you have any idea if/when a boxset will be released?

And speaking of boxsets :-P ... do you have the Key to Time set yet? And if yes, is it good? I definitely want to get it, the question is now or later.

I have no idea about SJA box set. I certainly hope there will be one, as I'm much more keen on buying that than Torchwood DVDs... but I wouldn't really want to buy single releases.

I have the Key to Time, yes. It's pretty! :-D That's about all I can say though as I haven't actually yet watched any of it... but from what I've heard/read, it's certainly worth it - the restoration quality's good and while not everyone is happy with all the extras, there are SO many extras that there should be something interesting for everyone.

Also, if you plan to get this particular release, it might be a good idea to get it sooner rather than later as it's a limited release (15,000 numbered copies - mine is 7246). It seems fairly certain that there will be a re-release (in some other shape) once this has sold out, but that's about all that's known - it might be a while until then, or it might be a digipack instead of each story in an individual case, etc.

Ah, I didn't realise that. Thanks for the tip! Then I will be getting in soonish.

I second that. I don't even know if there's a Series 1 set out yet - I didn't want to get the 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 releases, but I might be tempted to get the whole series if it is released - especially if it's got John Barroman commentaries ... I don't love him all that much on Torchwood, but he's hillarious as a person :-)

*wants SJA dvd set now*

No, I'm not greedy :-P

I really recommend the novel The Prestige is based on. I was gripped.

It's also quite different to the film.
