I had a pedicure today done by a teenage/early 20s boy. Random job for someone like him. I think it might be a family business or something. But he was good, and when another lady came in she even said, "Oh you're lucky. He's really good." I always feel so terrible getting pedicure. I do not have pretty feet and it's kind of embarrassing. My sister tells me that there is WAY worse than what I think is bad about my feet, so I try to keep that in perspective. Still, when they staff is all talking to each other in Vietnamese, I can't help but imagine they are talking about me and how I should've been in 4 weeks ago and don't I take care of my nails at all? I went crazy and picked a hot pink color. Just for a change. I usually do something really neutral and pale. I hope they approved of that and the conversation I couldn't understand was not, "This color looks hideous on her. Yuck. What is she thinking picking something this bright for her skin." I'm so paranoid. Towards the end of my appointment a man came in and sat at the station next to me. I know men get manicures and pedicures too, and I think it's fine and great and more men probably would love the results if they could get over themselves and try it. I just had never seen one come in before when I was there. He was all dressed in spandex cycling gear. Just seemed like a random errand for a man - "Oh better stop at the salon on the way home..."
Mailed a bunch of packages at the post office and got some $0.02 stamps because rates went up again. At my earliest, I remember stamps being $0.16 or $0.17. Seems like a huge increase. I guess it's because of email and computers, that they need all that extra money to do the same services? I wouldn't say the post office is suffering in business though. I waited 15min in line and they actually did have all the counters open.
Yup, I'm full of exciting things to say as usual. Can I top that with the news that I need to go get my tires rotated, and an oil change tomorrow? The fun never stops.
