When I was little my dad worked for New York Air (no long exists) for a few years and was based out of La Guardia Airport. During the school year he'd commute to Colorado to see us, but during the summer we'd rent a house in NY so he'd be closer to us. Neither of my parents wanted to actually live in New York full time. Eventually he got a job with Continental based in Denver and we didn't have to do it anymore. This was when I was in 1st to 3rd grade.
The creepiest thing about the tv was that it gets an excess amount of electricity in it, so you can't even turn it off for awhile. But more commonly things just blow and are ruined. Any time there was a storm, it was me and my sisters job to run around the house unplugging everything electrical, tv and stereo first.
I apologise if this is a bit cheeky, but...eye_candy33July 8 2006, 20:24:25 UTC

The TV turning on by itself would freak me right out. Poltergeist much?
