This was a poem that used to mean a lot to me. It's nothing that great, but I just wanted a copy of it here tabbed with some other poems I've put in this journal.

I loved you - and my love, I think, was stronger
Than to be quite extinct within me yet;
But let it not distress you any longer;
I would not have you feel the least regreat.
I loved you bare of hope and of expression,
By turns with jealousy and shyness sore;
I loved you with such purity, such passion
As may God grant you to be loved once more.

-Alexander Pushkin, 1829

A different translation of the same poem.

I loved you; and perhaps I love you still,
The flame, perhaps, is not extinguished; yet
It burns so quietly within my soul,
No longer should you feel distressed by it.
Silently and hopelessly I loved you,
At times too jealous and at times too shy.
God grant you find another who will love you
As tenderly and truthfully as I.

I just read a news article about a little boy named Savior God-Scientific Allah. Wouldn't you love to watch the train wreck of a thought process that came up with that one? What, were they worried that Savior God Allah came off a little too "total lunatic religious freaks!" Yeah, better add something like Scientific in there so we know they're God's children, but edumacated too.
