All week long, I've been having problems with my Internet connection. It would last perhaps two minutes before crapping out on me. Since it was always around 9:00 at night when I was dealing with it, I never bothered to call Comcast to yell at them. I finally called while at work yesterday, despite expecting to have to deal with some schmuck who wouldn't help me because I wasn't at home in front of the problem.
After spending a few minutes wading through their automated voice system, which also condescended to explain to me that I should try rebooting the PC and unplugging the modem first, I finally got to a human being. Though having to listen to a fucking computer on the phone always gets my dander up, I just couldn't bring myself to harass some poor sap making eight bucks an hour and has to say "I'm having a Comcastic day!" a few dozen times before lunch.
I got a week's credit and the promise of a visit from a tech guy between 8:00 and 11:00 this morning. A Saturday morning. Comcastic!
Of course, once I got home last night, the Internet connection was just dandy. Still is this morning, too.
I'm up now, dammit. May as well get the day started. Have plenty to do before the rain comes tomorrow. Maybe I'll just ignore the tech guy's phone call so he won't show up.
