Because I'm making some of my pictures into Chanukah/Xmas gifts, I've been exploring my online galleries.
Turns out I sold another one at
my DPC Prints page. It's the shot of the Dom Cathedral in Köln, Germany. Even though I have a small version of it hanging up on my wall, I was planning on deleting it from the page because I no longer really like the edit. I think I can go back and do a better job now that I have a better (but not expert) grasp of PhotoShop. Now that I've actually sold a copy, I feel I'm obligated to keep it up there. So that's three prints sold!
Need to work on a few things to add to the page. No reason not to.
The real surprise came from
Flickr.
A little while back, I sent the Dragon*Con
fan photo galleries pagea link directly to my
D*C 2006 photo set. I'm guessing that's when most of the activity started.
Unsurprisingly, the first 15
most viewed pictures are of scantily-clad and/or attractive (or possibly attractive, sometimes it's hard to tell from just a thumbnail) women from D*C.
But somehow, of the 14
chosen as "favorites", four of them are skyline shots of Atlanta. Several of the favorites were picked by "
superheroinelinks" (guess which ones), but I think all the rest are individuals.
I figure the D*C ones came from the D*C link or from the D*C tag (though how they were found and picked out of the
14,725 shots in there is beyond me), but I can't figure out how people found the Atlanta pictures.
I'm not complaining, mind you - just surprised. I hadn't really even looked at my Flickr account but once since mid-September.
In similar photography news, I once again took N&P(&J&B)'s family holiday photo. Or tried to. I really need to learn to lay off f2.8. I've become far too enamored of the shallow depth of field it gives me. I also use it because it means I can use a faster shutter speed even in lower light; and I'm paranoid about camera shake in low light. Waste enough time taking pictures in the shitty lighting conditions in the
Capitol or at
Dragon*Con and you'll get paranoid, too.
There are a couple of usable shots in the bunch, but I'm really not good at the staged photo/setup/model photography thing. I prefer "found" photography and candids. OK, found is totally the wrong word, but it's more all-encompassing than candid or landscape or cityscape or whatever.
All of this reminds me that I STILL haven't finished going through my China pictures from two years ago, nevermind the shots from my October trip.
