crowdedhour verse
This is Sherlock's main game (and the mun's home game). I began playing the character there in August of 2009, after an extensive canon study near the beginning of the year. I consider it the greatest RPing challenge I have on my plate, and it's very important to me that I do justice to one of my favorite literary characters of all time.
In this verse, Holmes was in Montpellier, France in 1894, when he received a clue to the location of Moran, the final member of Moriarty's gang. This led him to the castle in game, where he is trapped. This is in the interim between "The Final Problem" and "The Empty House".
Holmes' Irene here is thewomanswit as played by my dear friend Bex. His Watson is trustadoctor .
If you are interested in playing any other Holmes character at this game, we'd love to answer your questions! Both Irene and Holmes use book canon with movie PBs, but we're open to anyone.

Holmes is also played from the period in which everyone thought he was dead, however, after RPing out a reunion with Watson (trustadoctor ), I am now playing Holmes at these verses as if he had returned to England, in what might be considered an AU spin on "The Empty House" timeframe. He will not be attempting to keep the fact that he is alive a secret, because, well, that would be downright annoying to play at those locations. He's open to meeting anyone and everyone, including doubles of characters he already knows.
He has a specific verse with cleverdoctor that is post-return from death.
And one with knockknock_hack where she is trapped in the past and meets Holmes!

thewomanswit and I got to talking about how much we secretly ship canon! Holmes & Irene, but how due to Holmes' staunch asexuality and Irene's stubbornness and need for space, it's highly unlikely that anything will ever actually happen between them in our game. This led us to discussing how Holmes would be a terrible husband anyways, and we had so much fun talking about what a ridiculously bad married couple they would be, that we decided to make a crack!verse of it. Played on personal journals. This is just for the lulz, no offense meant to the characters or anyone else.
Regarding Holmes' PB [Played By]:
Although I use icons from the 2009 Sherlock Holmes film, my Holmes is strictly based on stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle. This means that the Holmes I write matches up to the physical description in these stories, rather than precisely how Robert Downey Jr. appears. For example, my Holmes is tall and gaunt, and very precise in his personal hygiene. I had considered using PBs from various other TV & movie incarnations of the stories (mostly Jeremy Brett), but in the end, the higher visual quality of the new movie icons won me over. I hope this does not lead to any confusion.
