For the first time ever, I had an Rx filled at a Walgreen’s, and it was odd. Any other pharmacy I’ve been to in Michigan requires a signature when I receive my medication, especially this particular drug. Walgreen’s? Just swiped my credit card and sent me on my way ( Read more... )

If you've never been there, legally you are supposed to sign a form saying you understand the HIPPA laws. Not that in 10 years in a pharmacy I ever had anyone ask what they were signing or what HIPPA was but... usually you also sign so you can't later claim you didn't get the drug. It's the one real evidence the pharmacy has that you received the medication. And trust me, a lot of people claim they didn't get their medications.

I know, which is why I was surprised. I'm considering reporting the store to Michigan, because I'm leary that they might be using my script for other purposes, given that it was for generic Ritalin.

Okay, I just choked on my water reading that. They let you take Ritalin without a signature? That's beyond words for me. Reporting them isn't a bad idea. If not to the state, at least to Walgreen's coporate offices, I have a friend that works for Walgreen's and they do still get signatures on new customers and every time on controlled drugs..

I know - schedule 2 drug, new customer, no signature. You've convinced me. I'm going to report the store.

Do I want to know what RPS means?

On those occasions when I've made a soup that seems to be missing a little something, I find that a few dashes pf worcestershire sauce gives it that little bit of something that it needs. It doesn't need a lot. For a good sized crockpot, about a teaspoon or so will do. (Not that I've measured, its a guess)
