(that was Sunday, actually)
Second time there, lovely city as always. We missed the
fallas for one day, but next time we have to see it! Hundred of huge wood-and-papier sculptures incinerate one by one, lots of fireworks and barrels, lots of flowers, colours, processions (ok, this shouldn't be in my 'good' list)... It sounds like an impressive spring festival of archaic derivation, and I one day I have to be in the middle of it, despite my crowd-hatred thing.
I was there with my parents (who paid for everything! I missed that =P), for a family reunion with my brother. He's doing well, even if a bit creaky (after reading Liquor series I was expecting that). We ate at the restaurant where he works twice, and I'm proud to say that he cooked very well. His kitchen crew also won a competition for the best tapas. They have been on the newspaper and all, but you can't see him there because HE DIDN'T WAKE UP IN THE AWARD'S MORNING! Sigh, it's so like him... It's funny, because now he is all grows up, independent, yada-yada, but in the deep he is the same old idiot sibling I knew. It's comforting, in a way.
Also, I've known his girlfriend: lovely girl, friendly and smart. Good hit, bro :)
We spent two day visiting the
City of Arts and Science. The oceanographic park was fascinating, and I always have loved science museum (yeah, I'm a eight years old inside), but it's the structure that steals the breath away. I usually don't like very much contemporary stuff, even
La Défense didn't struck me so much, but
Calatrava really is a genius: he built the Enterprise! ^^
Talking about this, most of the city is a architectural jewel, a mix of medieval style, heavy and strong, and art nuveaux innovations, where stone, mosaics, glass e steel are mixed, creating luminous elegance.
Visit this city if you can: it's full of life, and full of wonder.
Also, my bro caught up with two years of birthday/Christmas gifts and bought me a navel piercing: *proudly points at her shiny belly button* Yay!
