The only bad thing about seeing a movie by yourself is that when you want to make a snarky comment to someone there's no one to talk to so you end up talking to yourself without realizing it. Or maybe that's just me. But other than that I like watching a movie by myself. The only person to argue with about which movie to see or what time and where is myself. And I almost always win the argument.
So I did see Indiana Jones 4. I enjoyed it. I was trying to keep an eye out for subtle nods to previous films but all I caught,
besides the photos of dad and Marcus, was that in the beginning in the warehouse, as they were leaving, one of the objects in one of the boxes was the Ark. There were others that I suspected were nods but I haven't seen Raiders of the Lost Ark in a long time so I wasn't sure. There were problems with the movie, sure, but overall I enjoyed it. Just ask the couple behind me. When the movie ended the woman leaned over and told me she enjoyed listening to me giggle during the movie. Heh. Most of the times I was giggling at things that probably wouldn't make every one else laugh. Like the greasers comment in the diner. Although that was more out of echoes of past pain because I hated The Outsiders with a passion in 8th grade.
I also figure the people around me were probably highly amused when I
nearly shrieked in terror, flapped my hands, and then covered my eyes when Mutt used a motherfucking giant ass snake to pull Indy out of the sand pit! The ants weren't too pleasant either but didn't send me into the full body shudder the snake did.
Also, oh George. You just couldn't resist throwing some aliens in there could you? Eh. I just went with it. But it was still pretty silly.
And while I thought the wedding, and entire romance, was a little tacked on I still enjoyed it because, let's face it, romance has never really been George's strong suit and it was Indy and Marian so, come on. Of course I loved it. Marian kicks so much ass it's ridiculous.
There was a trailer for Australia which I wasn't expecting (I refrained from clapping in glee like I did when I saw the Dark Knight trailer). I so can't wait for that movie. And a preview for that Brad Pitt movie where he ages backwards that I completely forgot about. Also, a preview for Hellboy 2 that actually made me kind of want to see it.
And then I stopped at McDonald's with the intention of just getting a sundae and got McNuggets and no sundae. Hey, I went to Target and I didn't spend any money. Eh, being responsible with money is for pansies anyway.
Also, in regards to Harrison Ford, I would still totally hit that. Sorry. It's true. Shia LeBeouf did nothing for me in this movie. He didn't annoy me but I so do not get his appeal. This is, perhaps, because I've seen more than one episode of Even Stevens.
