Sorry for the constant failure :<iwitnessdamselMarch 13 2010, 04:35:36 UTC
April had come up for a breath of fresh air. Partly hidden under her arm was an embarrassingly romantic little paperback she wasn't sure she could stomach, but had every intention of trying to anyways.
She'd maybe figured she'd have to ignore a shady passenger or two up top, maybe chat it up with a few she'd befriended...
She hadn't expected seeing a Goddamn Miniature Car.
The redhead stopped a few steps from the doors and stared. The hell--it looked too small for a person to sit in and drive, so was it controlled remotely? Had the Captain just dropped it and left it there to cause mild, harmless confusion? The Hell?!

Bumblebee skidded to a stop at the voice, executing a neat y-turn so he was facing April. He appraised her for a moment, then unfolded into his robotic form, stretching his limbs idly. He raised one hand a waved in a friendly manner. At the same time, his speakers sprang to life.
April dropped her book, took a breath and screamed.
Honestly, she knew by this point that they had robots on the boat. She did know that. What she apparently hadn't known or even considered were that the robots could turn into cars and looked that. Frightening. When they were just...in...robot form or whatever.
The New Yorker panicked, and stumbled backwards until her shoulder blades smacked against the stairwell door.
"Stay there!" she demanded. She made a Face at the thing and pointed, just so it knew she Meant Business. "Stay--stay right there, you're...freaking me out! You big...thing!"
Bumblebee sighed and heaved his shoulders in an exaggerated manner before covering his face with his hand. Humans. They were always so jumpy, even when he was their size. He stayed where he was asked, though. The 'bot crossed his arms, studying April for a moment or two.
With Ironhide settled - and both of their communicators safely stowed on Ratchet's person - the medic decided it was probably best that he seek out their newly returned comrade.
He felt slightly guilty that Bumblebee had the misfortune of arriving during one of the ship's unusual events. At least he had not forgotten the young scout completely, but even still...
He drove slowly around one of the upper decks, casually looking for the younger mech. He might have called him over the communicator, but he needed to get some fresh air anyway.
There was the somewhat more muted than usual roar of an engine and bright yellow and black blur sped past the medical officer, music blasting from the scout's speakers. As he passed, Bumblebee honked in greeting. He can talk to you in a minute, Ratchet. Right now he's driving.

Had he been in his robotic form, he might have shaken his head in amusement. He was certainly not young enough to go chasing after him, nor did he plan to - Instead, he eased to a halt, waiting for him to finish.
Ratchet was pleased to see that Bumblebee had taken the alteration in size reasonably well, based on his typical, exuberant behaviour - Then, when one considered the past events that the scout had shouldered, diminished height hardly seemed like much punishment.
