And I've Seen How You Live / I Can't Help But Forgive
Batou carried the Major in his arms, murmuring to her in low, soft Japanese. He didn't usually call her by her first name, only in times of real stress, and the cyborg figured that this was one of those times.
She was far too light.
Major Kusanagi didn't even weigh sixty kilos. She was less than a feather when he'd carried her multi-ton shell on his back more than a couple of times before. Normally Batou could grip her arm, but now anything more than the gentlest of touches would snap her bones like dried spaghetti. This was a problem because he wanted to hold her tightly.
He opened the door to his room and laid the woman down on the bed.
"Motoko," he said, baritone voice soft. "I'm going to get something to calm you down. If you need anything, use the communicator. I'll be back in less than five minutes."
Batou straightened up. He needed to keep her calm, and the only depressant easily available to the passengers was alcohol. He wasn't sure how much muscle control she retained, so he hesitated to bring her hard liquor. ... there were always jello shots.
Batou closed the door and hurried to grab a dozen. Enough for her, and some for him.
