Batou & Deuce's Big Gay Date

Taking the stairs two at a time, Deuce listened to the crackle of the comm with half an ear. Normally, he would feel uncomfortable eavesdropping on others' conversations, but here it was different. It was assumed that if someone could be heard, then they wanted to be heard. Whether or not that was strictly true, Deuce certainly felt better about his listening in.
Violin case in one hand and a ribbon-bound bouquet in the other, Deuce headed out onto Deck Eleven, quietly counting off room numbers to himself.
It had taken three hours to get the spellwork right.
Two other attempts sat in the bottom of the trash bin in his room. One had caught fire and the other had exploded quite spectacularly, scattering rose petals everywhere. It was a harder sort of magic than he normally dealt in, but he had promised his friend an undying bouquet. Magic didn't take kindly to broken promises.
Finding Batou's room, Deuce set his violin case down by his feet and knocked.
