zuko stop stalking your girlfriend duckducktutu September 24 2010, 05:45:19 UTC
She wanders along Deck 12 and takes the stairs up to Deck 9, looking for an open area for her to practice. The lobby of the theatre-- though it holds no meaning to her, there's no horror to haunt her wandering by here, unlike the other passengers. She sets up the phonograph, setting a record in place-- it plays the Waltz of the Flowers.

She appears to be doing nothing but stretching to practice dancing.

is that what he tells all the girls? duckducktutu September 26 2010, 00:55:58 UTC
He really is wasting his time. The little girl really only seems to be concerned with practicing. She starts into a series of pliés, her legs shaking as she squats down. Mr. Cat hadn't been kidding-- you really did know when you hadn't been practicing. At this rate she's going to be here FOREVER trying to make up for all the lost time where she hadn't been going through the basics.

She really hopes no one is watching, this is kind of embarrassing. She's even more awful than usual.

"WAAACK!" The sound startles her into slipping out of position into a split, and she winces, pulling her legs back together. "Oooow..." Duck stumbles her way back up to her feet, holding her arms tight to her chest, blue eyes wide in panic. "Who's there? H-hello?"

She kind of hopes it's her imagination, but that was WAY too loud to be her imagination...

Duck takes a few quivering, terrified steps back. The mask is scary enough, but the fact that he was lurking around in the shadows didn't make it any better-- she squints her eyes TIGHT, and there's a flash of bright, glimmering red light.

When the glare dies down, a taller girl stands before Zuko, one arm held straight out, palm forward. "Stop!" Her voice is high, delicate-- but it holds the weight of the command it orders. She crosses her arms in front of her and shakes her head. "I do not wish to fight you."

Because that is the most obvious conclusion.

Obviously.

The prima ballerina rests her weight on one foot, ready to spring away in an instant.

Bright blue eyes dart away from the princes and she takes another few light steps back en pointe. It's not that she doesn't recognize him, it's not that at all, it's more that HER identity has been discovered that worries her.

She bows low in introduction. "I am not Duck. I am Princess Tutu." The bangles on her wrists shift with the motion, catching the low light of the deck.

Her eyebrows knit, and it takes her a second to look back to meet his eyes. "No one you must know." Her voice is sad, but light. Do not worry, she seems to say. "I am a Princess fated to never be with her Prince. Nothing more."

She ventures a few steps forward en pointe, lowering herself slowly back to flat feet. She remains some distance from Zuko, though, still willing to run.

She can't help but be reminded of her first encounters with Fakir.

"I don't believe I have ever been asked that." She articulates the words, crisp and clear, as though they should be regarded well, as though there is more meaning behind the strong syllables. "Why are any of us here? I had a purpose in the world I was created for, but here, I can barely help those I care for."

Princess Tutu's face falls for a moment. The idea that someone else knows that sadness is awful to her, something no one should have to know. But...

...Maybe this once, maybe just this once, she'll really be able to help someone here. Not just ask questions that hurt and pry, maybe she'll be able to do something.
