[Kage sat at his desk, waiting for Keane to show up after ordering the Librarian to his office. Kage's sidearm lay on the desk near his ashtray and the First Mate sucked on a lollipop with his boots up on the desk. They were dirty from his latest excursion to Carnival and the rifle leaning against the desk was smeared with the same dark mixture of blood and drying mud.
Kage was incongruous with the fancy office, but Redd had assigned it to him, and it was where most of the passenger files showed up. Kage flipped through some of the latest acquisitions idly. It looked like some new ones should be showing up soon...
He crunched half of the lollipop between two metal molars as he waited for Keane to arrive.]
