[Arbiter is there only a minute or so after Erol broadcasts. He knows military formality and discipline; you never keep your team or your superiors waiting. And 'Moramee certainly doesn't want to miss a chance for some action.

He waits for Erol to address him.]

[Erol doesn't keep Ripa waiting. He has immense respect for the alien's fighting capacity.

Maybe he should explain his behavior. Yes, and why doesn't he complain about how mother never paid enough attention to him while he's at it.

He nods in acknowledgment.]

It was getting too quiet on this ship for my tastes, anyways. I will remain in combat until death claims me. If it can.

[So far the Arbiter hasn't seen anything on the boat that scares him; and besides, for a creature of his race running away is just as big of a disgrace as dying, if not more so. He surmises that he'll just come back anyways.]

[Staying in Carni until something gets him, refusing to retreat when it's wise? Hmmm.

It would be a better idea if he didn't suspect he WOULD come back and then he would just have to go retrieve his armor from all over the damn boat. That would be a pain.]

However I do hate having to collect my armor after the fact.

This armor is ceremonial. No lesser being, especially the idiotic passengers of this ship, deserve to have their claws on it. And besides...
