Since their violent argument, Nabooru had been doing everything she could to avoid him. This ship truly was hell. She was trapped here, away from her people, with a confusing incarnation of her former king. Or, well, formerly confusing. Before, she somehow had trouble feeling as hateful towards him as the Ganondorf she remembered.

But being batted around like a misbehaving child fixed that problem.

She stepped out of the deck 13 temple, dressed modestly for once. She had a sari wrapped around her body in such a way that her midriff wasn't even exposed, and a second long strip of cloth around her head. Maybe she was trying to hide the bruises on her face, or maybe she just wasn't feeling herself. Maybe both.

As she walks through the flowers towards the elevators, she recognizes the silhouette several hundred yards away from her, and stops in her tracks.

Great.

Ganondorf had gathered a handful of flowers before he finally stood up again. He had heard the rustling behind him, ignored it. Right up until it stopped. This was how the mess with Ashelin had started. He frowned. What he would not give to have his sword with him. His hand curled into a fist, the leather of his glove creaking.

Then he turned slowly and nearly dropped the flowers in his hand. There she was. There was no mistaking the form standing there watching him. "Where have you been? I've been searching for you," he said as he marched over to her.

He regarded her for a minute, noticed how modestly she was dressed. "Are you available to speak to me now? Or will you continue to hide from me?"

Nabooru can't hide the disgust in her eyes, and after glaring at him for a few moments, she moves to walk around him, trying to avoid him again. In her mind she knew it would be worthless, but she wants him to get the idea. She is not happy with you, Ganondorf.

"Unless you're going to apologize like a real man, leave me alone."

He takes her glare in stride, almost completely unmoved by it. She didn't have to say she was upset. The emotion radiated from her being. Ganondorf could feel it.

He scoffed when she mentioned him apologizing. For what? He had done nothing wrong. "Perhaps I did act rashly. Though you are not without fault here. Your tongue is too loose, Nabooru."

"Oh, please. Eat those words and choke on them."

Her spitfire personality and spite can't be covered up by any amount of dainty clothing or scolding from him. Her purpled face hurts as she grimaces at him, which only makes her angrier.

"You haven't listened to a word I said since you got here, which just says to me that you don't care a thing for me anymore. I thought you were different now, but I was wrong. I've been such an idiot."

See? That's exactly what he's talking about. She simply doesn't know when to hold her tongue. The two of them are too much alike. That's probably why they cannot get along now. Well that and Ganondorf remains a bastard.

"I have listened," he countered. But it was only the same noise he had before back in Hyrule. Don't kill people. Don't harm this. Don't destroy that. After a while, it gets old.

His expression changes, becomes almost unreadable. "You said yourself you care nothing for me. I am only granting you the same courtesy."

"I don't care about you anymore," she began, pouting, "because of the things you've done. You know, there was a time when you'd at least consider the advice you kept me around for."

Turning up her nose, she starts to stomp away through the flowers again.

"I've lost all hope I still had for you. You shame me. Go away."

This was certainly not going the way he had expected. Despite how he felt about her, he did not like disunity within his people. It was disruptive. And threatened his kingship.

"Wait."

He followed her, cutting directly into her path. She would have to walk around him to get away, and he was not going to allow that. Carefully, he tucked one of the flowers he held in his palm beneath the cloth and into her hair.

"There was a time," he began, echoing her, "that you did not think me a monster."

Nabooru flinched when his hand came so close to her face, showing a glimpse of her fear. For a moment she asks herself if he's going to strike her again, but then it occurs to her what he did, and she pouts. So he is trying to apologize, in his own miserable way, where he tries to keep his dignity.

"It would appear that person is gone now."

Well Ganondorf didn't think it was miserable at all. His fingers linger near the cloth around her head before finally dropping down to his side. "He is not. Here he stands before you now. I have grown and changed. I am not the man you seem to think I am."

She sighs in frustration, rolls her eyes, and tries to walk around him again.

"Why am I even bothering with you? My whole point is that you've changed, I know that."

"I am not a beast."

He makes no move to stop her.

"If you walk away now, you will never know that."

...Augh.

Don't say things like that. She doesn't stop immediately, but her pace nearly slows to a halt, and she kicks a tuft of pink flowers as she stops.

Nabooru wants to believe that, so much. But the urge to believe is stronger than the belief itself at this point. She knows the kind of power he used to have over her - but the thing that made Nabooru different from Ganondorf's other women is that power, that respect, was something he had earned in her eyes, not something she was willing to hand over without question out of religious belief or cultural expectations.

"That isn't what I've seen. Actions speak louder than words. Stop acting like a pig, and I'll stop thinking of you as one."

Ganondorf had expected her to walk away. So he when he turned to see her still standing there, he had to smirk. Just a little. Apparently, he still had some kind of control over her. He strolled over to her easily, each step full of purpose and pride. Nabooru was stubborn, that much was certain. But Ganondorf always won in the end. His fiery attitude always burned just a little bit hotter than hers.

"Then you will have to give me the opportunity. Instead of walking away from me. Will you do that? For me?"

"I am not telling you anything new here." Nabooru turns her head sharply to growl at him, one gold eye burning bright next to the dark bruise on her cheek.

Looking away, she hesitates before stomping off again. Nabooru's still very angry. Just because she stopped walking away from him doesn't mean she isn't furious anymore and feeling any less fed up about everything.

But she wants him back too much to deny that kind of request.

"I don't have anything else to say to you; I've said it all already. If you think you can do something different this time, then do it. But this current conversation is over. Just leave me alone until you have something different to say or do."
