i read a really interesting avc comment about colony, which i watch, but am not sold on; someone said "it doesn't take too much before it becomes very uncomfortable when the us, a modern power, casts itself as under the yolk of oppression" and that's very much my disconnect with hockey fandom rn - it's really sort of gross to coopt language of oppression in ways that it does, and that is a really big problem with a lot of my understanding of us media.
