Katniss-as-Kaner is the most brilliant casting move anyone has ever made in the history of ever and for that alone, you'd win my heart. But Haymitch as like an alcoholic version of Sharpy (what I'm gathering, at least?) is wonderful.

oh man the amount of self-satisfaction i had after katniss-as-kaner - i was kind of toying with katniss as tazer? because she's serious, bad at run, everyone listens to her - but dude, TINY SNIPERS WITH BABY SISTERS, it was obvious. also, yes, haymitch is alcholic sharpy and it was so hard because we were like, should he coach??? but lbr, he's not competent enough to coach as an alcoholic. (the other option was finnick as a sharpy/duncs hybrid, and johanna would be seabs, but uh... then i got attached to finnick odair, pittsburgh's wonder child, so that happened.)

i don't know who these people are in the hockey world but oh my this is great!! i love AU's for the hunger games, but especially love yours. haha. I'd love to see more from this world. The bar scene reaction to Peeta's confession of love was fantastic. haha oh haymitch. I almost want to see a friends with benefits sorta deal with peeta/katniss instead of the whole love triangle-esque thing that is sorta in the books.

also, did you see Catching Fire yet? : D

thanks dude!!! the hockey world is a strange and horrifying place, but basically kaner and tazer are like, the duo who made the chicago blackhawks relevant again because they're both super talented and got drafted as babies around the same time and the hawks basically sold them as the dream team to end all dream teams; tazer is like, SUPER SERIOUS and made team captain within like a year, kaner is a drunken douchebro who is short and has magic hands. (this is a MASSIVE abbreviation of actual story, irl it's more complicated obvs.)

i think i'm writing johanna/haymitch?? OLYMPICS FUN TIMES. i'm super psyched you enjoyed this w/o knowing anything about hockey! IT WAS SUPER FUN TO WRITE. i love snarky katniss - she's particularly fun because like, her backstory is not a horrible tragedy, it's just not the best in the world. it's like an everybody lives au, kind of? HAPPY TIMES FOR EVERYONE.
