SPN fusion, guys! This has a fantastic Gale-voice and really clever worldbuilding and a fantastic Kat/Gale dynamic and honestly, one of the best uses of fire imagery in THG fic that I've ever seen.

Cato is crowned the Victor of the 74th annual Hunger Games.
Cato here is just like, phenomenally horrifying and kind of sad. The culture of the Victors is probably my favourite part of canon and it's beautifully drawn here, the push-pull of disdain and disgust and inevitability, the knowledge that you're stuck amongst your own kind.

Gale and Katniss face each other as Prim and Peeta face the arena.
This is just honestly very, very clever. I love a good AU and the way this unravels is bitter, harsh, and brilliant. Plus Prim and Peeta are probably the best I've seen them, and I'd dearly love to read the story from their point of view.

Cato and Clove in the Games.
This author writes a really compelling District Two and their Cato and Clove are some of the best I've seen, particularly Clove. The worldbuilding is defs. what gets me but the prose is lovely too and there are a lot of places I had to just stop and breathe because it gut-punched me so bad.
- as far as tales go, this one is cautionary by jada_jasmine
They never stood a chance. People say that makes this romantic.
This is gorgeous. Johanna is a glorious, glorious creation and Finnick and Gale are just like, stunning and vivid and impressively real and like, I can't even. It's so good.

The first Hunger Games.
!!! This made me have FEELINGS. It's brutal and uncompromising and so, so accurate.
