wot i have watched
skins series five:
i liked this a lot more than i meant to, considering i am now older than the skins characters and therefore feel all ~awkward~ about my wasted youth. none of the dudes are attractive this season, which is a bummer, and not really many of the girls. but dakota blue richards is really pretty good and i find franky really interesting. (also her dads are adorable.) mini is a bitch on wheels but she's really pretty and knowing skins i will like her by the end of the series.
i do find it sort of annoying that even though franky's supposed to be super-androgynous and have never worn makeup she's always wearing at least eyeliner-- like, c'mon. :/
also: the music was great, i could swear noah and the whale were on at some point? awesomecakes ^^

-> honestly, the more time passes the more i just really do not like alex. her actress is kind of godawful and they just keep writing her stupider and stupider and it's like, every time she has a plot i'm bored already. plus that b.s. wrt thom was so ridiculous and irritating and it seems like they've retconned it so that she intentionally shot him or something? whaaaat :/
her neighbour-dude is cute, and they have decent chemistry but she goes wooden every time they talk so :/ and wtf was beating up that dude in the middle of the apartment, way to say BLOWN COVER. you would assume that is the kind of thing division would train you not to do (oh wait, division, sorry).
and i really want to like her backstory (little girl in the woods!) but idk, i am not a fan of alleviating it with her in a ~mansion. i am just so :/ about alex, it makes me sad.
-> whenever i am not watching nikita i forget how terrible shane west is. it's really unfortunate because michael is SO INTERESTING and all his relationships are fascinating (except his relationship with alex, which is just GROSS). he was so cute when they had handcuffed him, and my favourite ryan moments (hi ryan, you are as interesting as fungus) were when he was snarking at michael. i want more michael&birkhoff being adorable and talking about nikita tho, that is GOLD.
-> ryan is SO BLAH. it's so frustrating and i miss owen SO MUCH D': BUT! i am super fond of nikita playing him like a stradivarius. she's great when she's manipulative-- the kiss at the end was so neat, just with how cool and calculating she was about it. he started to grow on me when he was fucking with michael and birkhoff; that's cute.
-> nikita keeps doing silly things :/ like telling ryan alex's name-- that's just sloppy (unless it's part of a long game, but i don't think it is). i really don't like the plot-device-y nature of everything that happens, it bums me out.
-> alex has pretty clothes, and fantastic hair. i really like her relationship w/ nikita-- the way nikita just hugged her when she got out was really sweet.
-> the bit when michael and nikita deal with obstruction the same way-- talk your way out, when that fails start kicking ass-- was really pretty adorable. i want all the backstory on those two!
-> DIVISION INSTALL SOME GODDAMN SECURITY CAMERAS.
yesterday i watched primer (again; this time i actually understood it) and tron (1982, which was-- very blue and very full of jeff bridges being annoying) and the last two disks of fnl s1 with my friend c. we made cherry ice cream and churned it and ate it at like midnight as a reward for finishing primer with our heads intact. we finally went to be at like, three-thirty and woke up at eight; so that was fun.
also i have been watching some vids!
rise is the west wing and it makes my heart swell and i tear up every time i watch it: so, so good. it makes me remember that i love politics.
threnody is a nikita vid and it's so, so good i don't even-- it's all the layers and fucked up pieces of nikita, and the way alex is an extension of her quest and it's just-- really good. (spoilers through 1.11)
