i feel it all.

(This is a THINGS ABOUT TODAY post and also your opportunity to learn about my classes, which are, for the record: Chinese 100 (Mandarin for Idiots), Philosophy 100 (Intro to Metaphysics and Theory of Knowledge), Politics 106 (International Relations), and Law 121G (Law and Society). There is also a little bit of soap opera & some mentions of shock-horror-gasp RELIGION.)

-I love International Relations. My lecturer is kind of terrible, but the subject matter THRILLS ME TO MY BONES.
-There is a girl in my IR class & my tutorial who looks exactly like Cassie from Skins. She is crazy-pretty and seems super nice but I am terrified to go up and talk to her because I am pretty sure I'll look like a creeper.
- I have a six-minute oral presentation due in two weeks on Liberalism and Realism in a post-Cold War era. I LOVE THIS TOPIC!!!! I am super excited to learn about it :) Unfortunately I am not thrilled with my partner, who seems like she will be obnoxious + do no work. WHATEVER I GET TO TALK ABOUT POLITICAL THEORIES FOR SIX MINUTES, YAY :D

-Chinese is way harder than it has any right to be, esp. since we're doing crazy-easy bits. Oh well, I think this is pretty much because I have been failing at doing homework.
-The guy who sits next to me in Chinese is super-adorable and super-sweet. I am glad he sits next to me; he actually knows what the fuck we're doing.

-Law was so grrr argh today I don't even. The Treaty of Waitangi is just a giant mess. Can we has constitution nao?
-However, this does mean that if I stay in school and become an awesome baby lawyer, I could have a hand in writing the NZ constitution. WHY YES THIS IS INCENTIVE.
-Also: TO EVERYONE IN MY LAW CLASS WHO LIKES TO BRING UP QUESTIONS THAT ARE BASICALLY YOUR DISSERTATION ON WHY YOU HATE THE MAORI/BRITISH PEOPLE, WE ALREADY KNOW. WE HAVE HEARD YOUR ARGUMENT FIFTEEN TIMES AND IT WAS BETTER WORDED FROM OTHER PEOPLE. STFU.

-Philosophy I did not have today, but I am interested in the subject matter! The prof seems pretty dry though. :(

-Last Friday I went to the Dessert Club Orientation! I met a girl who is lesbian and she is lovely. :) Unfortunately she seems to have a romantic interest in me and I do not handle people liking me like that well, so I twitch a lot. We went to an International Women's Day lunch today and I ate lots of fried food. Hopefully she is now over me.

-My mom is super Catholic and also super liberal, so I went to a church she recommended today: Newman Hall, which was kind of interesting? I am iffy on it, I guess, because I like to play really fast and loose with scripture (I basically like to believe there is something up there that loves me and that I will go someplace happy when I die, though even that last is more of a wish than an actual belief) and they are pretty into believing over there. The youth chaplain seems kinda cool though! We talked about definitions of heaven for a bit today, and where we thought suicide bombers went when they died. He seems to think Buddhists are dorky, but I love them, they are so precious. I wish I could be Buddhist but I think I am too Western for that.

-HOW ABOUT THAT KATHRYN BIGELOW! (...i just realized i spelt her name wrong on my facebook status. whatever, no one i have added on facebook will notice.) I AM PLEASED FOR HER. (though mostly because i had to watch titanic like five times last year and therefore dislike jim cameron on principal.)

-I bought a notebook for short stories because the campus bookstore is awesome and gives me discounts. I like it lotsssss. :)

really life, what i did today!
