*sounds a bit tired and somewhat pained; occasional gunfire/other commotion in the background*
-at's... one more- *there's the sound of the something small falling and clattering to the ground before being picked up again* ...damnit, not now... I'm sorry, but I'm going to be a bit slowed down... my arm... I'm not turning in yet; I just

What's happened? You're injured--Let me look at that!

It’s not very big… but messy. It hurts. It was from yesterday when I was escorting medical supplies and nurses to a safehouse… I managed to fend them off anyway. It wasn’t this bad… until today; I must have overdone it while trying to move the wounded…
*obediently holds out her right arm. The wound is wrapped by a bloody cloth, and underneath is a nasty gash. There is other blood on her from when she using her body to prop up the injured who could walk along the way, but no other wounds aside from a few scattered bruises*
…most of the blood isn’t mine… it feels disgusting…

[Megumi directs her towards a waiting, empty bed. She unravels the cloth covering the wound, taking care not to jar the arm, slowly peeling off the patches of the makeshift bandage that had adhered to the wound.]
So signs of infection thus far . . . Good . . .

*Exhaustion, stress, and pain weren’t good for thinking completely clearly, though she does follow any directions and guidance given. She does try to keep the arm still, but she’s still somewhat tense*
…that’s good…

I’m afraid we’re going to need to suture this, Amanda-san.
[Megumi eases the girl down onto the bed, completely baring the arm from clothing. Megumi performs a rapid surgical scrub on her hands and arms, and then applies sterile gloves and moves back towards the injured girl. She takes a ready set of gauze soaked in sterile water and proceeds to clean the wound, squeezing water into the gash liberally and allowing it to run out until she was satisfied.]
I’ll begin the procedure now, Amanda-san . . .

[Amanda winces; the water stung, but it would keep any dust or cloth fragments from getting sown into the wound. She looks toward the wall since she remembered hearing somewhere that watching any kind of medical procedure while the patient only made it hurt worse or feel like it was taking longer.]
…please be quick…
[That said, she repeats to herself a couple times not to move that arm no matter what. Just in case she starts to be tempted to, though, she trying to think about something, anything else than surgery and the war.]
[OOC: The odds probably wouldn’t be that high, but feel free to say whatever would fit best.]

I will work as quickly as I can. Please just try to rest . . .
[Thankfully, the café is well stocked with medical supplies. Megumi prepares a syringe of lidocaine and injects several doses of it into the gash as an anesthetic ( ... )

*Once Megumi says she’s finished, Amanda looks away from the wall toward the dressing almost curiously. It might have just been the anesthesia, but it did hurt a lot less now; the sutures might feel odd later, though. She closes her eyes for a moment to try to rest, but suddenly her eyes open again and focus directly on the doctor. She’s clearly grateful, but worried now, too.*
…what do I owe you for this? I don’t have many coins, but I can fix just about anything mechanical… don’t know how much that’s worth here.

I just want you to recover properly now. Just rest.

[She smiles back at Megumi before laying down completely again and closing her eyes.]
…I’ll try to sleep for a while… now that the adrenaline’s worn off, I feel like I just ran about ten miles without a break.

Yes. Just sleep.
