[Motoko is in the buffet. It's her very favorite place on the ship, because it has soda, and no one to tell her she has to stop drinking it.
She's raided Deck 12 for origami paper, leaving it even more of a mess than it had been previously. Among her spoils are also a pair of bright orange sunglasses only slightly too big for her, which she has perched on her head over her ballcap, a small stuffed parrot, which is sitting on the table in front of her, and a backpack, to carry the paper and the parrot in.
Her table and the floor around her look like the Elegante Wildlife Refuge for Defective Cranes. Motoko simply lacks the fine control over her shell to make the small, precise movements necessary for origami.
This is not stopping her. Her concentration is intense, and when she tears the paper in her efforts, as she does often, she simply sets it aside with no sign of frustration, and moves on to the next sheet. She does occasionally produce something that's recognizable as a crane, and these successes are lined up on the table next to the parrot and her soda glass.]
