Fun day!
So we had the snuggle time I mentioned earlier. We hit soccer. Kate and I played some, and I watched G man some. Then lunch. Then Target. Got Ms. Bug a shirt to decorate at school for the field trips. Got a toaster. The kids seem to like toast in the mornings. Then out to renfest.
Four hours later we head home. We did our obligatory "earning our keep". We say we go in to help with the fencing demo, so we do. We get in free, and Mark / Sam get kids that run up to the stage for the kid part and prime the pump. There was also yet another magic wand :). And whacking dad w/ foam swords :).
Then off to wander around renfest. I had found a map! ... so I could see stuff on it. So we ended up wandering all over the place. It's been a while since we did that much out there. The bestest news is I had no problems out there. (My philosophy of KEEP MOVING keeps me able to move and strong ... it works. I still need to move more, but I do enough to stay able to take good care of them. I refuse to sit still get used to sitting all the time again and then can't move ... not going back there! That sucked). There were many games (3), rides (2-3), bird show, petting zoo, multiple singing shows (G loves them and I force Kate to watch them since he wants to) and ... the best ... the fire dance / juggler guy. The kids, and I, absolutely adored it. Much MUCH fun. So much so the normal trick I'd been doing of giving the kids a buck each to donate to the performer turned into a 5 each. The bird show was also cool. They had trained a raven to take the money and put it in the jar, and if you donated 5 or more, the raven would take a medallion and give it to you :). That was a BIG hit.
There was a snack in there, but by the time we got home we were all tired and grumpy. The idea of cooking was just more than I could deal with, so we stopped in a restaurant and Voila! There is their principal and Garrett's teacher. Much fun! Then back to grump. Hey, we did great all day until we got to the restaurant. Then after food we were back to good again.
And then at home Kate and I started her first kit. G-man had to get to bed so he'll get his tomorrow. She's most of the way through her first electronic kit w/ dad!
