Want to go and see a fucking boss film?
Ken Loach, The Wind That Shakes The Barley.
I know it won at Cannes, but I reckon you should go and see it on the recommendation of Jim Hennigan, 71 of County Kildare who sat in the row behind me yesterday at FACT in town and sang the irish gaelic song. I started talking with him after the film and he stands by the film as being a very accurate portrail of treatment and events - although the politcal process was a little too condensed, he told me.

He was a very sound man who even got up to get me an ashtray from the bar, with a 'I'm just getting an ashtry for the lady, there no good over here are they?' to the bar staff. We had a propper good chat about Ireland and the reality of the situation and he verified the behaviour of the generals and soldier that had returned from the Somme and alot how the Scottish were sick bastards but the English were more so,putting celt against celt, 'They made sure they did that,' he said.

I'm really glad I had a drink and a smoke with him. Go and see that film.
